Genielysse Reyes (she/they) is an ace-spec Filipino American author from San Diego, California, who creates picture books, middle-grade prose and verse novels, and a comic every now and then. Her stories range from humorous to heartfelt, sad to happy (sappy), and encompass identity with all its intersections. She holds an MFA in writing for children from Simmons University as well as a BA in creative writing and a BA in psychology from UC Riverside. You can find some of their short stories and comics hanging around in Pomona Valley Review Issues 8 and 9, the debut issue of Intersection Stories, Mad, Bad, and Broke: An Anthology, and Hair Me Out: An Anthology. When they aren't writing, Genielysse is doodling in their sketchbook, humming show tunes, and nerding out about animated films.
She is represented by Janine Le at Janine Le Literary Agency.
