Genielysse Reyes (she/her) is an ace-spec Filipino-American author who writes picture books, middle-grade verse novels, and a comic every now and then. Her stories have been described as "sad" and "happy"...sappy! She holds an MFA in writing for children from Simmons University as well as a BA in creative writing and a BA in psychology from UC Riverside. You can find some of her short stories and comics hanging around in Pomona Valley Review Issues 8 and 9, the debut issue of Intersection Stories, and Mad, Bad, and Broke: An Anthology. When she isn't writing, Genielysse is doodling in her sketchbook, humming show tunes, and making others laugh with her punny puns.
She is represented by Janine Le at Janine Le Literary Agency. Favorite book: Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson Favorite movie: Whisper of the Heart Currently reading: Wild Song by Candy Gourlay Currently watching: Abbott Elementary |
